YouTuber PewDiePie has married long-term girlfriend Marzia Bisogin in a London ceremony, eight years to the day since they met.

The controversial Swedish vlogger, 29 – real name Felix Kjellberg – and the Italian social media star, 26, tied the knot at the Temperate House and the Nash Conservatory in Kew Gardens.

Announcing the news via his Instagram and Twitter accounts today, he wrote: ‘We are married!!! I’m the happiest I can be. I’m so lucky to share my life with this amazing woman.’

Marzia also posted a stunning gallery of images on her social media pages, telling her 6.2 million Instagram followers that the day carried a special significance for the couple.

She wrote: ‘Yesterday, the 19th of August – after exactly 8 years since we met – we celebrated our wedding with our closest friends and family.

‘It was the most beautiful day, which I will treasure forever. I am so thankful for all the people that made time to attend the event and helped us celebrate our marriage.

‘I feel like I’m the luckiest person and I’m so full of love. Incredibly ecstatic to be able to call Felix my husband for the rest of our lives.’

Between them, the couple have 107 million YouTube subscribers, 24 million followers on Instagram and 22 million Twitter followers.

Marzia, however, has not uploaded to YouTube for nine months, uploading a ‘goodbye’ video to it in October last year.

The pair met online in 2011, with Marzia moving to Sweden to live with PewDiePie six months later.

They later relocated to Brighton, UK – a known haunt for YouTubers such as Joe Sugg, Zoella and Alfie Deyes – with their pugs Edgar and Maya.

Marzia was a known fan of her now-husband’s online career and is thought to have slid into his DMs while she still lived in Italy.

He replied and they became close.

Her screenname – before they met – was even CutiePieMarzia, a presumed nod to her YouTube idol.

He hopped on a plane to Italy to meet her, recalling in a Swedish Radio interview four years ago: ‘If there was something I learned at this point was, if there is something you want, grab it, otherwise drop it. So I went to Italy.

‘I did not even tell anyone that I was going away. I just left home and left a note to my parents in the kitchen and told them that I could not watch the dog anymore.

‘My deal for staying at home was that if I did not have a job, I had to walk the dog every lunch, a task I handled miserably.’

He admitted it was ‘the most crazy thing’ he had ever done.

‘She was waiting with a friend at the arrivals gate. More beautiful in real life than in the videos she sent me.’

He proposed to her on April 27 2018.

Marzia announced the news on Instagram posting a picture wearing an engagement ring and captioning it: ‘Felix proposed!’

PewDiePie’s net worth is currently believed to be about $30 million.

PewDiePie boasts the second most YouTube subscribers in the world, but it has not come without controversy.

He previously earned blacklash for including racist and antisemitic messages in his videos.

In July 2018, he posted an insensitive meme related to the 25-year-old pop star Demi Lovato, following her overdose and alleged heroin use.

The YouTuber, who resides in Brighton, UK, shared a meme that shows a nondescript character asking their mother for money. The character pretends the money will be used to buy a burger but then uses the money to purchase heroin ‘like a boss’.

PewDiePie eventually deleted his tweet.

Back in February 2017, Disney cut ties with the YouTuber after he featured a man holding a ‘Death to all Jews’ sign in one of his videos.

‘I’m sorry, I didn’t think they would actually do it,’ PewDiePie told his viewers in a clip. ‘I feel partially responsible. It might just be my crude sense of humor, but I think there’s something funny about that.’

Seven months later, in September 2017, he was caught shouting the N-word during a live stream of himself playing the multiplayer online shooting game Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds.

Through his Internet celebrity, he’s also raised money for a number of charities.
