She loves New York. The Yankees and the Mets. And Hillary Clinton seems poised for a huge win Tuesday in her adopted home state of New York.

A new Wall Street Journal poll shows her leading Bernie Sanders 57 percent to 40 percent among likely Democratic primary voters.

She has expanded her lead from 14 percent to 17 percent since Monday.

Three other polls earlier this week have her ahead anywhere from 12 to 16 percent.

Perhaps that’s why Sanders has decided to stop campaigning in New York and fly to Rome where he will not meet with Pope Francis.

Clinton, meanwhile, also plans to leave New York on Friday and campaign instead in voter-rich California. Golden State voters head to the polls in June.
