If his Justice Department wants to indict Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton over her private email server, President Obama says he won’t stand in their way.

“I can guarantee that,” said Obama during an interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace. “I do not talk to the Attorney General about pending investigations. I do not talk to FBI directors about pending investigations. I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department, or the FBI, not just in this case, but in any case.”

Many conservatives have suggested that Obama would put pressure on the Justice Department not to prosecute Clinton if she is the Democratic nominee. But Obama repeatedly said he would do no such thing.

“How many times do I have to say it, Chris? Guaranteed,” said Obama when pressed on the issue.

Obama repeated what he has said previously that Clinton’s personal email server “has not jeopardized America’s national security,” although he has admitted there was a certain “carelessness” in her decision making.

The FBI has not announced when they will wrap up their investigation, although many believe it will be prior to the end of the Democratic primary calendar.
