Actor and frequent Trump critic Jim Carrey yesterday railed against the president during a panel discussion, labeling him a “melanoma” while also lashing out at Republican lawmakers.
Carrey made the comments while speaking at Vulture Fest in Los Angeles.
“Trump is a melanoma,” Carrey said. “And anybody that covers for him, including White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, is putting makeup on it.”
He went on to say that he thinks the president is “dangerous” and “a threat to homeland security.”
The actor also lashed out at Republican lawmakers more generally, accusing them of “raping” and “destroying” the political system.
“These are not people you can deal with,” he said. “You cannot be bipartisan with a criminal. A rapist needs to be removed, not negotiated with. These people are raping our system, they’re destroying it right in front of us.”
When asked about the animosity many Trump supporters feel toward “liberal celebrities” and the so-called “Hollywood elite” who complain about his presidency, he answers with fire in his eyes.
“Tell them ‘Your fuck*** president is a reality-show host!’ ” he says, ending the declaration with a harsh F-bomb. “Right now, it’s an extraordinary thing to see. Blatant dishonesty is just accepted by 40 percent of the country.”
He dismissed warnings that he could lose fans over his political comments.
Carrey has become a harsh critic of the Trump administration and has used drawings to mock the president and other GOP figures.
