It was bound to happen sooner or later, but many fans had been hoping for sooner.

Sean Spicer, the former controversial spokesman for President Trump, was finally eliminated from Dancing with the Stars.

It took weeks, but Spicer finally landed in the bottom two contestants in the vote total, and the judges sent him packing:

The audience let out a shriek and applauded when the announcement was made.

It happened just hours after Trump encouraged his 66 million followers to vote for his former controversial spokesman:

Following Spicer’s elimination, Trump deleted the above tweet, replacing it with this:

Eric Trump had also tweeted his followers:

As did Reince Priebus, the former chairman of the Republican National Committee:

But Spicer’s low scores finally caught up with him.

Yesterday, Donald Trump Jr. mocked the dance competition, questioning ohow Democrats could win back the White House in 2020 when they couldn’t boot Spicer from the dance show.

“If the Democrats can’t get Sean Spicer off ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ how are they going to win 2020?” President Trump’s 41-year-old son told “Extra” in a recent interview.

“They got a lot of outrage that they can’t get him off of this show,” Trump said of Spicer, the former White House press secretary. “So it’s pretty funny to watch.

Carrie Ann Inaba, a “Dancing With the Stars” judge, called the situation “frustrating,” saying, “There are really great dancers being sent home.”

Another show judge, Len Goodman, vowed to run around a grocery store naked if Spicer were to take home the show’s mirrorball trophy.

ABC Producers blocked half the country from being able to vote at the beginning of the season, and that helped Spicer and his southern base for weeks longer than expected.
