Prince is dead.
The legendary energetic performer from the 1980’s had been treated for a drug overdose early Friday morning according to TMZ.
He had performed in Atlanta on April 15 but was rushed to a hospital after making an emergency landing in Illinois early Friday.
After boarding his private plane to fly home, the pop singer’s condition worsened, and the pilot made an unscheduled stop around 1 a.m. at Quad City International Airport in Moline. He was released from the hospital several hours later.
Prince was given a “save shot” to counteract the effects of a drug. He refused to stay in the hospital. His body was discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early this morning.
Prince Rogers Nelson was 57.
