It’s official. Bernie Sanders is not a super-duper wealthy senator like most, but he is still doing okay compared to the average American salary.

Sanders 2014 tax return, filled out by his wife, shows an income of $205,271.

The majority of the income came from Sanders’ $174,000 Senate salary and the Social Security benefits that both he and his wife receive.

Sanders made $150 in voluntary contributions in 2014: $25 to Green Up Vermont, $25 for the Nongame Wildlife Fund, $50 for the Children’s Defense Fund, and $50 for Vermont’s Veterans’ Fund.

He owed $27,653 in federal taxes but had $31,825 withheld and received a $4,172 return.

A spokesman for Sanders says his 2015 tax return will be released “soon.”

Bill and Hillary Clinton have released tax returns for the last eight years. Their 2014 income was almost $28 million.

The Clintons gave just over $3 million to charity in 2014, about 11 percent of their overall income.

The Census Bureau calculates the average yearly American salary is around $60,000.
