Former First Lady Laura Bush says she won’t be endorsing a Republican presidential candidate anytime soon, and hinted Saturday night she may be leaning to Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.
“I want our next president—whoever he or she might be—to be somebody who is interested in women in Afghanistan and who will continue US policies,” said Bush at the Women in the World Summit.”That’s who I want, someone who will pay attention to our history, and know what’s happened before, and know specifically how we can continue to do the good things that we do around the world.”
Interpreting the answer she hints that she may back Clinton in November. Clinton spent four years traveling the world as secretary of state, and visited Afghanistan four times during her tenure.
