If you’re a conservative evangelical Republican candidate for president who has been bashing “New York values” on the campaign trail, don’t plan on getting a warm reception when you arrive in the Big Apple prior to the primary.

That’s what Texas Ted Cruz learned when he campaigned in the Bronx.

CfZoGdVW8AEKZFNAs the New York Daily News reported, local resident Rodrigo Venegas was “cheered like a Yankee slugger” after being removed from a campaign event after Venegas told Cruz, “You’re running on an anti-immigrant platform, and you’re speaking in the Bronx? You should not be here.”

Cruz, greeted by a cold “Honey, how do we get out of the Bronx? Take the F U train, Ted!” front page this morning, has doubled down on his “New York values” insult attacking Donald Trump and a string of “liberal Democrats” for policies and positions that have been “hammering” the state.

A new poll shows Cruz running behind both Trump and Ohio Gov. John Kasich in the Empire State where 95 delegates are up for grabs on April 19.
