Senator Lindsey Graham made it very clear to voters earlier this year that he thought Donald Trump was the wrong person for the presidency.
-
“He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot.”
-
“He doesn’t represent my party. He doesn’t represent the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for.”
-
“I’d rather lose without Donald Trump than try to win with with him. I wish he would leave the party. I don’t care if he runs as an independent. If we lose the 2016 election, so be it.”
-
“I believe Donald Trump would be an absolute, utter disaster for the Republican Party.”
-
“It would take generations to overcome a Trump candidacy.”
-
“You know how you make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell.”
-
“When it comes women and Hispanics, Trump polls like Lucifer, so this election is a contest between conservatism and Trumpism, and Trumpism will get creamed in the ballot box.”
So it is a bit surprising when Graham flip-flopped over the weekend and urged GOP donors to unite behind Trump to keep the Republican Party intact.
Proving what Trump has said all along: Politicians are “weak” and “pathetic.”
