George Zimmerman, the former self-appointed neighborhood watch captain who stalked an unarmed black teenager and later shot and killed him, is now trying to sell his gun online for some quick cash.
It’s the act of a truly despicable human being.
“It is a piece of American history,” wrote Zimmerman in describing the weapon which has a starting bid of $5,000. “The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin.”
An attack which would have never happened had Zimmerman listened to law enforcement officials during a 9-1-1 call who urged him to stop following the teenager who was unarmed and on his way back to his father’s apartment.
Zimmerman said “portions” of the proceeds from the gun sale would go toward opposing the Black Lives Matter movement which started after he was found not-guilty of murdering Martin, due to Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law, in 2013.
Last October, Zimmerman retweeted a photograph of Trayvon Martin’s slain body which included the caption: “Z-man is a one-man army.”
In the gun description, Zimmerman attacks both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
“The firearm is fully functional as the attempts by the Department of Justice on behalf of B. Hussein Obama to render the firearm inoperable were thwarted by my phenomenal Defense Attorney,” he wrote. He also said “some” of the money raised would be used to challenge “Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric.”
He then claimed the Smithsonian Institution had inquired about purchasing the gun, something the Smithsonian quickly called a lie:
We have never expressed interest in collecting George Zimmerman’s firearm, and have no plans to ever collect or display it in any museums

Now an outspoken conservative activist, Zimmerman, who has called Obama an “ignorant baboon,” last year raffled off a painting he made of a Confederate Flag to help a Florida gun shop owner who declared his store to be a “Muslim-free zone.”
His Twitter account was suspended last year after he posted semi-nude photographs of his ex-girlfriend. In the captions, he included her personal email address and telephone number and accused her of having sex with a “dirty Muslim.”
Since the Martin trial, Zimmerman has been arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault for allegedly pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend. Two years later, he was arrested again for charges of domestic aggravated assault for allegedly throwing a bottle of wine at his girlfriend.
Last May, Zimmerman was shot, receiving minor injuries, during a dispute with a motorist who said Zimmerman had threatened him by saying, “Do you know who I am?” and “I’ll f—ing kill you.”
Tracy Martin, Trayvon’s father, said Thursday a foundation in his son’s name is focusing on ending senseless gun violence and he would not comment on “the person who murdered my son.”
