Bernie Sanders met with President Obama today at the White House. They discussed how they can both help mobilize the passionate Sanders supporters into a force for Hillary Clinton come fall.

Sanders says he’s remaining in the race until the Washington, D.C. primary on Tuesday. Clinton is expected to win that primary, and Sanders hints he may drop out on Wednesday.

“I look forward to meeting with her in the near future to see how we can work together to defeat Donald Trump and to create a government which represents all of us and not just the 1 percent,” said Sanders after his meeting with Obama.

It’s clear he is not considering an independent bid this fall. His focus now is on defeating Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump would clearly, to my mind and I think the majority of Americans, be a disaster as president of the United States,” said Sanders. “It is unbelievable to me, and I say this in all sincerity, that the Republican Party would have a candidate for president who in the year 2016 makes bigotry and discrimination the cornerstone of his campaign. In my view, the American people will not vote for or tolerate a candidate who insults Mexicans and Latinos, who insults Muslims, who insults African-Americans and women. Needless to say, I am going to do everything in my power, and I will work as hard as I can, to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president of the United States.”
