David Duke, former Ku Klux Klan wizard, has announced he’s seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate in Louisiana.

Duke says he was partially inspired by Donald Trump’s nomination and the message he’s running on.

“I’m overjoyed to see Donald Trump and most Americans embrace most of the issues I’ve championed for years,” said Duke in a video announcing his candidacy. “My slogan remains ‘America first.’ I’ve always said equal rights for all, special interests for none.”

Duke, a former GOP state representative and presidential candidate, said he will fight to end what he believes is “massive racial discrimination” against whites and called Black Lives Matter “a terrorist organization.”

“Thousands of special interest groups stand up for African Americans, Mexican Americans, Jewish Americans,” said Duke. “The fact is that European Americans need at least one man in the U.S. Senate who will defend their rights and heritage.”

In February, Trump got into political trouble when he hesitated denouncing Duke’s endorsement. The National Republican Senatorial Committee has repudiated Duke who has filed the official paperwork to enter the race.
