In an emotional open letter he shared on social media, former two-term California governor, and Hollywood superstar, Arnold Schwarzenegger, announced he will not vote for his longtime friend Donald Trump.
“As proud as I am to label myself a Republican, there is one label that I hold above all else – American,” said Schwarzenegger. He did not say whether he would be voting for Hillary Clinton or a third party candidate.
Schwarzenegger says it’s not only okay for Republicans to put country before party but “it is your duty.”
The Hollywood action star had campaigned for every Republican candidate for president since Ronald Reagan in 1984.
In a bit of irony, Schwarzenegger has replaced Trump as the host of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice.
