Let’s cut to the chase.
Brett Kavanaugh, and his close buddy Mark Judge, got drunk at a teenager house party one summer night in 1982, and tried to get it on with Christine Blasey.
She resisted. As Kavanaugh put his weight on her on a bed, she managed to get herself out of the room. He doesn’t remember it because he was drunk, and she was a 15 year old he didn’t know, maybe just met, and in his drunken haze probably thought he would never see again.
This isn’t shocking. Unfortunately it happens at teenage and college parties all across the country.
But for 36 years, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford has remembered it like yesterday.
“The uproarious laughter between the two, and their having fun at my expense. I was underneath one of them as they laughed, two friends having a really good time with one another.”
Dr. Ford was under oath and completely believable during her testimony.
She will never shake the laughter of Kavanaugh and Judge, it is burnt into her brain.
Kavanaugh was forceful in defending his public record, just like President Trump wanted. But he still lied about little things from his yearbook. And if you lie about “devil’s triangle” and “boofed” you can lie about anything.
Don’t take my word about Kavanaugh’s character as a young man. Examine what his drinking buddy Judge wrote in Wasted: Tales of a Gen X Drunk.
Judge describes someone named “Bart O’Kavanaugh” puking after drinking too much. Kavanaugh was a teenage jock, drinking a lot at parties, and by his own admission vomiting because of his weak stomach.
C’mon. This isn’t rocket science, especially for those of us who lived in the 80’s and had friends just like Kavanaugh.
But here is the bottom line question:
How can any U.S. senator vote “yes” for Kavanaugh’s nomination, in a rushed manner, until Judge is put under oath by the FBI?
Ford names both Kavanaugh and Judge under oath. She is “100 percent sure” Kavanaugh and Judge were in the room.
Judge needs to be interviewed by experts in order for this record to be complete.
Senators Collins, Flake and Murkowski, history will be looking back at each of you wondering why Republicans weren’t more interested in getting all the answers.
Why live with that when you can do the right thing, now?
This is an appointment to the highest court in the land. The fact that Kavanaugh’s character (and behavior) has been called into question by a credible witness…who also wants an FBI investigation…should mean that either further investigation is done, or the President should withdraw this nominee’s name. This is no Democratic plot or “con job”. Dr. Ford said when she learned of the five names being circulated in the media as possible Supreme Court nominees, she wanted to get her story to the President so he could pick one of the other four. The Democrats know that Trump will choose a conservative. But please, not Kavanaugh! I think the two best appointments to the Supreme Court in the past generation have been Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Both were highly educated, smart and measured jurists. They had widely different judicial philosophies, but the other critical feature they shared was character. Their word was their bond. They told the truth. Surely our highest court deserves the best and the brightest! In a country of 300 million people, is there no one else besides Brett Kavanaugh who belongs on that court???
