Loyal Cody Calafiore and his holier-than-thou decision on the finale night of Big Brother four years ago still haunts the hearts and minds of Super Fans everywhere.

The angel on your shoulder tells you to remain loyal and “do the right thing” for your sanity after the show.

The devil on your other shoulder reminds you of the half million dollar prize, and that the goal of the game from the minute you step inside the house is to be crowned the champion.

Cody went with the angels. Damn him.

And now we all ponder (and lie to ourselves) that we would be a perfectly decent player too.

Screw that. I would have told Derrick “I love you, bro” but sent him packing to win the game with Victoria by my side.

And, just like Cody has always said, it would probably haunt me for the rest of my life.

Cody locked in with his ride-or-die Derrick Levasseur early in Season 16. What Cody didn’t know is that Derrick, the deep undercover detective, was actually masterminding the game.

Cody’s only shot at becoming the champion was to win the final Head of Household competition and take the incredibly nice, but hopelessly useless, Victoria with him to the end.

We all know what happened.

Cody won the final HOH, beating Derrick, but put loyalty first and took him to the end, immediately ensuring himself of second place.

To Cody’s credit, leaving Derrick and his family with nothing to show for a summer away from each other, does not haunt him.

But he still lost the game when he could have won.

Now fast forward four years to Season 20.

So, here we are four years later, enjoying BB20, and watching the final three, Kaycee, JC and Tyler.

And, just like Cody, Kaycee Clark is, perhaps, nearing her own holier-than-thou decision.

There is little doubt she and Tyler will be in the final HOH competition of the summer.

And like when Cody beat Derrick in their final HOH, there’s a good chance Kaycee will beat her ride-or-die Tyler, and be in the position to send him packing.

That’s a slam dunk decision, right?

Kaycee sitting next to JC in the finale almost guarantees her the win, and the half million dollar prize. It wouldn’t even be close.

But would she take JC into the finale?

Never.

Just like Cody, she would want to sit next to her ride-or-die. It wouldn’t even occur to her for a second that she should play the game, and take JC for the win.

So, can she defeat Tyler?

An online JokersUpdates poll suggests she won’t:

The poll finds that Brett, Haleigh, Scottie, Angela and JC will vote for Tyler giving him the win. However, the poll is about 50-50 on Sam’s vote and I personally think she’ll vote for Tyler too. That’s a 6-3 win.

Which means Kaycee loses.

And just like Cody, she’ll go down in Big Brother history as an amazingly good and decent player. But always having to answer “the” question:

“What if you had only taken JC?”
