Republicans are on track to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court by Tuesday.
Eleven Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee will unanimously vote at 1:30 today to recommend Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. The ten Democrats plan to vote no.
The vote comes a day after dramatic testimony from the nominee and Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused him of sexual assault.
The Judiciary Committee vote will pave the way for a vote to end debate in the full Senate on Monday and a final vote on his nomination Tuesday.
Sen. Jeff Flake had been a wild card on the vote, but decided this morning to stick with his fellow Republicans.
A motion made by Democrats to subpoena Mark Judge, who was named by Ford as her attacker with Kavanaugh, was defeated.
The vote will happen despite the plea from the American Bar Association to put the breaks on the hearings until the FBI could investigate Ford’s accusations further.
