James Roche was Brett Kavanaugh’s roommate when both were students at Yale University in the early 1980s.

Roche also was a good friend of Deborah Ramirez, another Yale student who has recently come forward and accused Kavanaugh of inappropriate sexual behavior.

Tonight Roche released a statement where he sided with Ramirez:

“Based on my time with Debbie, I believe her to be unusually honest and straightforward and I cannot imagine her making this up.

Based on my time with Brett, I believe that he and his social circle were capable of the actions that Debbie described.”

Here is the full statement:

Ramirez says that she was once at a small gathering of Yale students where everyone — including herself — was playing a drinking game. At one point, someone took out a plastic dildo. Later, Ramirez says, she was on the floor, drunk and slurring her words. She says two students were standing over her and then a third student — whom she later identified as Brett Kavanaugh — opened up his pants and exposed himself to her. She pushed him away, pushing his penis in the process, and he laughed at her.

Roche says Kavanaugh was capable of  doing it. He did not address, however, whether he believed Kavanaugh was a virgin in college, as he claimed tonight.

In a tearful interview today on the Trump-friendly Fox News, the embattled Kavanaugh said he is “not going anywhere” as two allegations of sexual misconduct roil his path to the high court.

“I’m not going to let false accusations drive us out of this process,” Kavanaugh said, sitting beside his wife as she nods. “We’re looking for a fair process where I can be heard, defending my integrity, my lifelong record … of promoting dignity and equality for women, starting with the women who knew me when I was 14 years old.”

Christine Blasey Ford is alleging Kavanaugh pinned her down and groped her over her clothes during a high school party in 1982, while Ramirez claims he exposed himself without her consent during a gathering at Yale University in the early 1980s.

Ford and Kavanaugh will testify before a senate committee on Thursday.

Attorney Michael Avenatti is claiming he has evidence that Kavanaugh participated in gang rape and drug parties.
