A Yale classmate of Brett Kavanaugh’s claims the Supreme Court nominee lied about his drinking habits in college during his Thursday hearing.
“I like beer, I still like beer,” Kavanaugh testified under oath in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. “But I did not drink beer to the point of blacking out, and I never sexually assaulted anyone.”
But Lynne Brookes tells ABC News that she recalls his drinking habits as much more extreme than what Kavanaugh conveyed during his hearing.
“From something I witnessed personally,” Brookes said. “I find it very hard to imagine that he never blacked out or had memory problems.”
Brookes said she was in the “exact same social circles” as the embroiled judge while they both attended Yale and he “mischaracterized himself” when describing his drinking habits.
“He was trying to portray that it’s one or the other, and at Yale there are many people for which it was both,” she said. “I played two sports. I got good grades. I went to Wharton. And I drank in excess many nights with Brett Kavanaugh.”
“When he would drink, he would get obnoxious,” she added.
Brookes noted she is a registered Republican, and not part of left wing conspiracy.
During Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s portion of the hearing, she explained how she feared for her life when a “visibly drunk” Kavanaugh sexually attacked her at a high school party when she was 15.
Kavanaugh, under oath, denied ever sexually assaulting Ford but repeatedly evaded questions about his drinking in high school and college.
Brookes said she and other Yale colleagues were “extremely disappointed” at the way Kavanaugh “evaded” his excessive drinking questions.
Brookes recalled her most specific memory of Kavanaugh – when he was pledging to a fraternity.
“Brett was getting tapped in and he was incredibly drunk, in a ridiculous outfit and had to come up to me and sing a silly song,” she said.
“He was so incredibly drunk. I find it not plausible at all that he remembers everything he did that night.”
Odd that you left out an important word :”accidentally “ she said she thought he might accidentally kill her. Which implies she did not feel that he would intentionally kill her she is a psychologist that oversees support groups and has heard every story in the book and she is obviously just retellimg with empathetic feelings someone else’s tale. She is a liberal loon like you and this hit job to ruin a good man At 14 I had a gang of boys attacked me groping me and holding their hand over my mouth and I did believe they might kill me because I didn’t know what they were doing and I don’t believe this woman
A “liberal loon like you.” Seriously? Whenever someone attacks in a post, I immediately know it’s not a smart person that is even worth engaging with. Learn how to make a point without sounding like a 6th grader. New goal.
