A group of Mormon women is calling on senators to suspend Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation proceedings until a thorough investigation is completed.
With turmoil growing over sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh, casting doubts over his confirmation to the Supreme Court, the Mormon Women for Ethical Government issued a statement aimed at influencing the four Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee who are also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They are: Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee of Utah, Jeff Flake of Arizona, and Mike Crapo of Idaho.
“Sexual assault must not be normalized or condoned in any way or by anyone, especially those charged with political leadership,” the group said in the statement, which they sent to the four senators and to others on Monday. “We boldly condemn any attempts to justify such inexcusable and reprehensible behavior and demand that our elected leaders set a morally sound example.”
“If these accusations are proved false, an investigation will prevent harm to the court’s legitimacy,” the statement said. “If they are true, then Judge Kavanaugh must not be confirmed.”
The group’s founder and president, Sharlee Mullins Glenn, said in an interview that the women felt very strongly that they needed to speak out, especially to the four men who are members of the church.
“We have a shared faith, we know that they profess at least to believe that issues such as the allegations that are being levied by Dr. Ford and Deborah Ramirez are very, very serious,” she said.
These women don’t speak for “Mormon Women” and don’t know what’s “ethical” in government. They claim to be a non-partisan group and are getting acceptance in respectable venues, funding and media attention for this false claim, but they are only politically left leaning or politically confused and are only anti-Trump. They need to change their name to more honestly reflect their personal values.
“Ethical” in MWEG really means the personal opinions of a super small group of MWEG ladies who have decided all their personal opinions are most ethical and like to make public statements about what Mormon Women believe. Also, they like to publish articles about what ethics are and about what peaceful interaction is and I’ve recently seen it referred to as new “scripture”.

BALONEY! I’ve just been kicked out of MWEG AGAIN last night for asking questions they find uncomfortable and promoting ethical values they don’t understand or agree with and yet I’m a Mormon Woman committed to ethical government. They silence many Mormon Women who don’t support their narrow-minded cause.
They are dishonest in claiming who they are so they are unethical themselves. You can’t be unethical and while attempting to hold others to ethical standards.
