Are you ready for some football? And are you ready for some more controversy?
A two-minute Nike ad narrated by former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick will air tonight during the football league’s season opener
Part of the company’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign, the ad will also air during the U.S. Open and other major sporting events.
The ad features sports stars like LeBron James and Serena Williams, but also features Kaepernick saying, “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.”
Kaepernick will have his own apparel line with the company that will contribute to his Know Your Rights charity.
Kaepernick was revealed to be a face of the “Just Do It” campaign earlier this week, causing controversy and prompting people to destroy their Nike products.
Kaepernick has been a free agent since 2017, after he began kneeling during the national anthem while playing for the Forty-Niners to protest racial injustice.
His case against the NFL for allegedly colluding against hiring him was recently allowed to move forward.
