Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was wondering the halls of the United States Senate today and confronted Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL).
Rubio didn’t like it.
Rubio, pointedly warned Jones “I’ll take care of you myself,” during the exchange.
The Florida Republican had been talking to reporters in the hall about his concerns that China and other governments could demand social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter crack down on dissidents.
Jones, who has spread conspiracy theories about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, has been banned from sites including Facebook and YouTube for violations of their terms of service.
Facebook said it had removed four pages related to InfoWars for violating hate speech and bullying policies. Jones claims he is being politically targeted.
Jones interrupted Rubio, and started pestering the senator about alleged “shadow banning” of Republicans on social media.
Jones went on to call the former Republican presidential candidate, who was clearly growing impatient, a “frat boy” and insisted that Rubio was familiar with InfoWars, Jones’ website that is now largely banned from major social media platforms.
Rubio responded that he had no idea who Jones was. That’s when Jones touched Marco Rubio’s shoulder.
Rubio left the press conference telling reporters, “you can talk to this clown.”
