Hope Hicks has landed her next act and she’s going Hollywood to work for Fox News.
The former White House communications director, and close confidant to President Trump, will be the chief communications officer of FOX, the new company being built out of the remains of Rupert Murdoch’s empire.
Hicks, who will be based in Los Angeles, will be top PR honcho at the rebuilt FOX and her duties include oversight of the cable news channel her former boss loves to watch.
Her title is executive vice president and chief communications officer for Fox. She will report to Viet Dinh, Fox’s chief legal and policy officer.
Bu she will work closely with Lachlan Murdoch, the eldest son of Rupert Murdoch, The New York Times reported.
Lachlan Murdoch will be chair and chief executive of the reconstituted FOX.
After Hicks left the Trump administration, her communications job was filled by Bill Shine, a former executive at Fox News who became White House deputy chief of staff and communications chief.
Another former Fox News host, Heather Nauert, is spokesperson at the State Department. And Trump’s National Security Adviser John Bolton is a former Fox News contributor.
Hicks had zero political experience when Trump told her she would be the press secretary of his 2016 presidential bid.
What followed was a rapid rise to the top for the aide, who rarely spoke to the media despite her job title.
Her tenure in the White House was marked by scrutiny of her personal life and accumulated in her testimony before Congress.
Hicks dated then-White House staff secretary Rob Porter, who resigned after allegations he had beat two of his ex-wives.
