Rambo got a haircut and a cowboy makeover in the first images from the fifth and final film of the violent franchise blasting into theaters in fall 2019.

Sylvester Stallone’s shared a couple pictures of his troubled Vietnam War veteran perched on his horse on the set of Rambo 5, which started shooting this week.

Sylvester Stallone back in the saddle as John Rambo.

The 72-year-old action star’s reference to “Comes a Horseman Wild and Free” might hint that the plot will resemble the 1978 western starring James Caan about ranchers defending their land.

The Green Beret drifter John Rambo went to Vietnam, Washington State, Thailand, Afghanistan, and Burma on his prior adventures and now he’ll head South of the border to battle a Mexican cartel.

The prior four Rambo installments spanning 1982-2008 collectively amassed $727.8M at the box office.

When audiences last saw the US Army Special Forces soldier, he had finally returned to a rural horse farm in the States marked with a rusted ‘R. Rambo’ mailbox.

Before the next Rambo, Stallone returns to the ring as producer, co-writer, and boxing trainer Rocky Balboa in Creed II, which hits theaters November 21st.
