GOP Sen. Susan Collins doesn’t know yet who she’ll face for reelection in 2020, but that challenger already has millions of dollars in the bank to defeat her.

A crowdfunding effort to raise cash against the Maine incumbent cracked $3.2 million today.

The campaign, organized by Be A Hero Team, Maine People’s Alliance and Mainers for Accountable Leadership, is holding Collins accountable for her yes vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

“Senator Collins votes YES on Kavanaugh and your pledge will go to her opponent’s campaign, once that opponent has been identified,” the campaign reads. “If you fail to stand up for the people of Maine and for Americans across the country, every dollar donated to this campaign will go to your eventual Democratic opponent in 2020. We will get you out of office.”

During Collins’s 45-minute speech Friday explaining her decision, more than $50,000 was raised for the campaign, despite the Crowdpac site crashing.

After her vote, organizers released a statement pledging their intention to remove Collins from office.

“Maine deserves a Senator who would recoil at the idea of confirming a proven liar, an emotionally unstable partisan, to the Supreme Court,” the statement said. “Maine deserves a Senator who will believe survivors, who will listen to their stories, and who will represent them with honor. Susan Collins is no longer capable of that.”

As of now, no challenger has officially come forward to challenge Collins in 2020.
