President Trump today denied that he offered Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) $1 million to take a test proving her Native American heritage, even though he did just that.

Trump spoke after Warren responded to the president’s challenge and released the results of a DNA test showing she has a distant Native ancestor.

“I didn’t say that. You’d better read it again,” Trump told reporters at the White House when asked about his $1 million offer.

Reading it again, as the president requested, in fact during a campaign rally on July 5, he taunted Warren for her claims of Native American ancestry, a staple of his campaign stump speeches.

“I will give you a million dollars, to your favorite charity, paid for by Trump, if you take the test and it shows you’re an Indian,” Trump said at the time. “I have a feeling she will say ‘no.'”

Let’s go to the Fox News tape:

He said it.

In a series of tweets on Monday, Warren called on Trump to pay the $1 million to charity.

By releasing the test, conducted by a top DNA researcher, Warren is reportedly hoping to defuse attacks from Trump and other critics who have claimed she is lying about her heritage.

“I took this test and released the results for anyone who cares to see because I’ve got nothing to hide,” she tweeted. “What are YOU hiding, @realDonaldTrump? Release your tax returns — or the Democratic-led House will do it for you soon enough. Tick-tock, Mr President.”
