Hillary Clinton offered one of her most direct rebukes of President Trump since his election today after Trump accused her of colluding with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.
At a political rally last night, Trump went off the rails and told an arena of his supporters that there was “collusion between Hillary, the Democrats and Russia” during the 2016 election, despite offering no evidence for his claim.
An intelligence community assessment in 2017 concluded that Russia’s efforts were aimed at undermining the Clinton campaign. But Trump refuses to believe it.
In fact, Trump blamed his own American intelligence agencies, and not Russia, after his private – yet undisclosed – two hour one-on-one meeting with Vladimir Putin earlier this year.
Still, that hasn’t stopped Trump from making things up.
“There was a lot of collusion with them and Russia and lots of other people,” Trump said during the rally.
Hillary Clinton was unable to contain herself today.
In response, she tweeted:
Seriously, you asked Russia to hack me on national television. https://t.co/YPktJyQ7Gx

Clinton’s message referred to the president’s comments at a news conference on the campaign trail in 2016, where he appeared to call on Russia directly to find emails supposedly deleted from Clinton’s private email server used during her time at the State Department.
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Trump said at the time, adding: “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”
Special counsel Robert Mueller, looking into Russia’s role into the 2016 election, has, so far, indicted or gotten guilty pleas from 32 people and three companies.
That group is composed of four former Trump advisers, 26 Russian nationals, three Russian companies, one California man, and one London-based lawyer.
Six of these people (including now all four former Trump aides) have pleaded guilty.
