Last week the football “experts” universally picked #4 Michigan to defeat #10 Ohio State. But when the “underdog” Buckeyes took the field, they had a game plan ready and absolutely dominated the Team from up North.
Ohio State didn’t just upset Michigan. The Buckeyes totally embarrassed the Wolverines, 62-39, the most points giving up by the Wolverines in the history of the series.
Now the #6 Buckeyes are set to battle #21 Northwestern for the B1G10 championship, and a potential spot in the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State isn’t looking merely to win this game; it’s looking to blow the doors off Northwestern and wow the College Football Playoff committee.
While Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame appear a lock on an invitation, there are questions about the fourth spot.
If Oklahoma beats Texas in the Big 12 title game earlier in the day — or if Georgia upsets Alabama in the Southeastern Conference title game, leaving the top-ranked Tide as a potential No. 3 or
No. 4 entrant in the playoff — the Buckeyes will put the pedal to the metal and keep it there, if they can, for 60 minutes.
The Buckeyes have one of the best passing quarterbacks in their history in Dwayne Haskins, and the run-after-the-catch ability of his receiving targets is off the charts.
It’s hard to pinpoint a more impressive performance from a quarterback this season than Haskins’s against Michigan last week.
The sophomore absolutely shredded one of the best defenses in college football, throwing for 396 yards with six touchdowns and no picks.
It was his eighth game this season with three or more passing touchdowns, and he should have little trouble putting up big numbers once again when he takes on Northwestern.
Ohio State’s Urban Meyer is 82-9 in six seasons as the coach of the Buckeyes and 186-32 overall in 17 seasons.
Meyer says he’s taking nothing for granted against the Wildcats.
“I’m going to be very hard on everybody this week, and we cannot see anything other than the same effort we did last week,’’ Meyer told reporters. ‘‘When you win [against Michigan] and win the way you did, now that’s the time to cut it loose and be very over-the-top demanding of them.”
A report Friday said Meyer plans to announce after the B1G10 game that he’ll leave Ohio State after the 2019 season.
Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith has denied the report on Football Scoop.
The report cites a source telling them that Meyer has informed the university he doesn’t plan to coach past next season and he would address this after the Big Ten Championship.
The report additionally said that offensive coordinator Ryan Day would be receiving a raise and take over as head coach once Meyer stepped down.
Meyer said, “No comment on that,” when asked Friday at the Big Ten championship game news conference whether he wanted to remark on the report.
This follows continuing questions about Meyer’s health.
He has looked miserable on the sidelines all season, suffering from massive headaches.
