Democratic nominee Jacky Rosen has defeated incumbent GOP Sen. Dean Heller in Nevada.
Heller was the only GOP senator seeking another term in a state Hillary Clinton won in 2016.
He was once a critic of President Trump but had hoped the president’s political power would carry him across the finish line.
Three years ago, Heller returned a campaign donation from Trump, and two years ago Heller told reporters he “vehemently opposed” the billionaire.
Rosen often described Heller as a “rubber stamp” for the president.
