Rep. Marsha Blackburn will become Tennessee’s first female Senator and hold on to a Republican seat, defeating former Democratic governor Phil Bredesen.
Blackburn was elected to Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District in 2002.
Blackburn will replace Republican Senator Bob Corker who decided not to seek re-election.
President Trump and Vice President Pence have made a strong push for Blackburn in the midterm elections. They held a rally for her on Sunday in Chattanooga at McKenzie Arena.
