Josh Hawley has triumphed over Democratic senator Claire McCaskill in the Missouri Senate race.
McCaskill was first elected to the Senate in 2006, winning reelection in 2012.
Donald Trump won Missouri by 18 points against Hillary Clinton two years ago, and McCaskill was a top target for Republicans all year.
