Former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver have given permission to actor Chris Pratt to ask their daughter Katherine to marry him.

Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger announced their engagement Sunday after dating for a mere seven months.

Pratt, 39, reportedly dropped to one knee and proposed to the 29-year-old author with a massive diamond ring, which has been rumored to cost at least six figures.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star announced their engagement with a photo of the couple shared to his Instagram account.

“Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you,” he captioned the image. “Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!”

Shriver responded to the news on Instagram.

“Congratulations to two loving kind caring thoughtful Spiritual people,” Shriver wrote on the post. “We are so happy for you you are blessed as is everyone who knows you yes let’s go.”

Pratt’s ex-wife of nearly a decade, Anna Faris, also expressed her well wishes, writing, “I’m so happy for you both!! Congratulations!”

The former governor, however, has remained silent on the subject thus far.

Over the summer and fall, Pratt was photographed out and about with the Schwarzeneggers: Grabbing lunch with Arnold, at a basketball game with Patrick and more.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was the Governor of California from 2003-2011 and went by the nickname “The Governator”.

He is also one of the top action movie stars of all time.
