Every year, Anthony Scaramucci flies off to Davos, Switzerland, where he is featured at a Skybridge business conference. There was no reason to believe 2019 was going to be any different.

So that means either CBS knew “The Mooch” would only be available for one week of Celebrity Big Brother, or he quit and left producers scrambling

The World Economic Forum features the annual convening of elites – politicians, academics, businessmen and a smattering of billionaires make up the guest list.

Scaramucci was considered one of the top stars of last years forum, and a source who was there told me Tuesday no one believed a reality TV show was going to keep Scaramucci from attending his annual wine tasting event.

It didn’t. Scaramucci arrived in Davos on Wednesday, as planned.

So it was a bit odd the way the show decided to send Scaramucci, who was nominated for eviction anyway, off.

“Hello guys, surprise,” said Scaramucci via video on Friday’s episode. “I’m actually not a Big Brother houseguest, but I’m part of a Big Brother twist. From this moment on, I’m out of the house. That means you’re all one step closer to the quarter million dollar prize.”

He compared the twist to his time in the White House.

“In Washington, you get judged quickly before people really know who you are, and you never get a second chance. I’m giving the current nominees a second chance at safety.”

The whole thing seemed tossed together quickly.

What does a “second chance” have to do with Scaramucci, who certainly didn’t have another chance in the Trump White House?

Many BB Superfans are not buying the twist.

Former Big Brother houseguest Dick Donato posted a poll for his Twitter followers on Friday night:

“Are you buying that Scaramucci was a “fake HG”? Or do you think it was all bullshit to cover the fact that he quit?” the former winner asked.

An overwhelming 82 percent of those polled thought the twist was a “bulls*** cover story,” while only 18 percent thought it was planned.

The Mooch alleged even he didn’t know what the twist was, according to a post-show conversation with Entertainment Tonight.

“This show is incredibly unscripted,” he shared. “I never got to know what the twist was until about 15 minutes before I walked out of the house. I did the recording, and then literally they whisked me out the back door.”

The unanswered question is this: Did Scaramucci make it clear to CBS that under no circumstance would he miss his own event in Switzerland the first week of the show, or did he quit and leave them scrambling?

My guess is “The Mooch” tried to pull a fast one with CBS and never had any intention of missing the wine tasting in Switzerland.

If that’s the case, what contracts were signed, and how much was The Mooch paid for his one week of work?

Hopefully CBS will come clean soon and bring some transparency to what happened.

Fans deserve better.
