Lawyer George Conway called President Trump out for a cycle of “bizarre, irrational, self-defeating” and overall “not ‘presidential'” behavior today.
Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, is a frequent critic of the president on Twitter.
His recent outrage was in response to Trump’s tweet recognizing it is “not at all ‘Presidential'” to attack the media.
Conway responded that Trump is “not ‘presidential’ at all, period.”
You’re not “presidential” at all, period. You’re mentally unwell. You engage in bizarre, irrational, self-defeating behavior, which prompts criticism of you, which triggers more bizarre, irrational, self-defeating behavior. You would have been fired from any other job by now. https://t.co/jZ1n21qptp

Conway asked Trump to “resign and seek the psychological treatment you so obviously need,” going so far as to recommend a couple of books he thinks the president may find useful.
Do yourself and the country a favor. Resign and seek the psychological treatment you so obviously need.

Conway claimed Trump is suffering from “myriad psychiatric problems,” and then suggested he would have been fired from any other job:
And if anyone has any doubt about the question, ask yourself this: If, say, a CEO of a major publicly-held company engaged in conduct remotely similar to what we’ve seen of Donald J. Trump over the past 2-1/2 years, what would happen? How long would she or he last in the job?

When CNN’s Brian Stelter weighed in, Conway blasted the press for not doing its job.
What’s astonishing is the media’s and the nation’s utter failure to confront the fact that we have a psychologically unwell and unfit president. https://t.co/kC6V7QCIwD

In a series of late night tweets, Trump ripped MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch while acknowledging that his attacks on media are not “presidential.”
Little @DonnyDeutsch, whose show, like his previous shoebiz tries, is a disaster, has been saying that I had been a friend of his. This is false. He, & separately @ErinBurnett, used to BEG me to be on episodes of the Apprentice (both were bad), but that was it. Hardly knew him,..

Trump did not specify what Deutsch, who hosts an MSNBC political show on Saturday evenings, said to spark the tweets.
On Friday, Deutsch said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Trump was a “despicable human being” for criticizing political rivals on “sacred ground” while in Normandy, France.
In a follow-up post late Saturday, Trump said he knows that it is not “Presidential” to hit back at the “Corrupt Media” but vowed to continue the attacks.
I know it is not at all “Presidential” to hit back at the Corrupt Media, or people who work for the Corrupt Media, when they make false statements about me or the Trump Administration. Problem is, if you don’t hit back, people believe the Fake News is true. So we’ll hit back!

Trump has often attacked the news media, labeling negative coverage “fake news” and has called the press the “enemy of the people.”
