Today’s congressional hearing was a highly partisan event that revealed yet another bombshell allegation against President Trump.
As Democrats attempted to push for information to corroborate the whistleblower report, Republicans complained about the witnesses who weren’t present.
The GOP has made it known that their most desired witness would be the initial Trump/Ukraine whistleblower.
For a number of reasons, mostly legal, he won’t be made available.
When Rep. Jim Jordan complained about this, he was rebuffed by Rep. Peter Welch (R-VT) as the room erupted in laughter.
A grandstanding Jordan lamented, “There’s one witness, one witness that they won’t bring in front of us, they won’t bring in front of the American people, and that’s the guy who started it all, the whistleblower.”
The Ohio congressman was quickly corrected by his Vermont-based colleague. “I say to my colleague, I would be glad to have the person who started it all come in and testify,” Welch said. “President Trump is welcome to take a seat right there.”
