Marvel TV and HULU today unveiled Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., an upcoming animated series, will include the voice of Lucifer’s Aimee Garcia.
Slated for debut this year, Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.(Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) signals Marvel’s first endeavor into animated comedy geared towards adults.
For years, Garcia has been a fixture as Ella Lopez on the much-beloved Lucifer, which is ending on Netflix with Season 5, but has also had stints on shows like Dexter and George Lopez throughout her career.
Though Lucifer is based on a DC comic, with co-star Tom Ellis appearing in the recent “Crisis on Infinite Earths” Arrow-verse crossover event, Garcia is getting the animated spin for Marvel.
Garcia will voice M.O.D.O.K.’s wife Jodie, who has found a new calling in life amidst troubles with her husband.
According to Marvel, Jodie has had a late-in-life awakening — excited to pursue her mommy-blog turned lifestyle-brand empire and discover who she is as an independent woman in her forties.
“There are just too many things to do in this world and not enough time to waste being held back by negativity,” Marvel states. “And unfortunately for M.O.D.O.K., the thing weighing her down the most… is him.”
Former King of Queens and A.P. Bio star Patton Oswalt will play M.O.D.O.K.
Oswalt also played multiple guest roles in Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., so he’s well acquainted with this kind of comic book fun.
Other voices include: Melissa Fumero, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ben Schwartz, Beck Bennett, Jon Daly and Sam Richardson.
