80’s icon Debbie Gibson is singing her way into Lucifer’s heart.

The “Lost in Your Eyes” and “Foolish Beat” singer will appear in Lucifer‘s recently announced musical episode, the cheekily titled “Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam.”

Gibson, who will indeed sing in the episode, is playing Shelly Bitner, a controlling helicopter mother who won’t let her teenage son JJ have any say in his own future.

Ellis tweeted that he was “literally living the dream right now” with Gibson.

At the moment, we don’t know what causes all of the characters to break out into song in the episode; however, the showrunners are confident they’ve come up with a great reason.

“We wanted to have a real grounded story reason why they’re signing and dancing, and not just, ‘Oh, this is going to be the one where everybody sings and dance,’” co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich recently told EW of the final season’s 10th episode. “It’s been a little game of Tetris [planning the episode] but it’s super fun. It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be just such a bucket list thing for me.”

Lucifer will return for its bifurcated final season on Netflix later this year.
