Lucifer star Tom Ellis has been quiet on social media as negotiations continue for a possible sixth season, but he did find time to retweet a message about the coronavirus from former president Barack Obama.
President Trump has struggled with leveling with the American people on the coronovirus since February when he claimed it would “disappear” like a “miracle.”
He also speculated that warm weather would kill the virus and stop its spread.
None of the statements were backed by science or infectious disease experts within his own administration.
In response, Obama tweeted out a message about the coronavirus curve, and why it was important to stay away from big groups.
“If you’re wondering whether it’s an overreaction to cancel large gatherings and public events (and I love basketball), here’s a useful primer as to why these measures can slow the spread of the virus and save lives,” wrote Obama. “We have to look out for each other.”

Ellis retweeted the message, his only response thus far on the deadly virus that has now shut down production on Lucifer’s fifth season.
The show has been shut down “until further notice” by Warner Bros. TV.
Trump, meanwhile, changed his tone about the coronvirus today declaring it “bad” and admitting it could disrupt the world for the next six to eight months.
Lesley-Ann Brandt, who plays Maze on Lucifer, has responded to the coronavirus by retweeting an article by Julia Ioffe condemning Trump’s “rugged individualism.”

Actor D.B. Woodside, who plays Amenadiel, retweeted a heartwarming story about a 67 year old man who is unable to visit his wife in a nursing home due to the coronavirus, so he stood outside her window on their anniversary with a sign:

Lucifer season 5 was almost finished filming, with the twist of having to rewrite the season finale to fit a possible sixth season.
Season 5 will be split into two parts on Netflix, consisting of eight episodes each.
The first half the season is expected to be dropped by May.
The second half of the season was scheduled to be released this fall, but the coronavirus impact may push that back.
Sources say the potential sixth season of Lucifer would likely consist of 10 episodes.
In the United States, there have been 71 deaths and over 4,134 cases of coronavirus diagnosed, but that number is expected to skyrocket as testing becomes more readily available.
The World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus a global pandemic.
Warner Bros has not speculated on when production of Lucifer will resume.

In free countries you’re free to “place blame” and “take a side” on anything, even if it’s not “your craft.” We all have a claim in democracy. And Tom’s point that Trump has been dismal thus far in handling this pandemic is spot on.
