When we last saw Lucifer and Chloe, they shared a heartbreaking kiss before he returned to rule Hell.
But there’s not a Lucifan alive who doesn’t think they’ll reunite soon in Season 5.
Maybe as early as the first episode.
“You find out a lot of stuff in the first episode actually about what Lucifer’s intentions are, so I’ll leave it at that as a tease,” Ellis shared in an interview.
“Yeah, it doesn’t take too long I think,” Lauren German added quickly.
Lucifer is back in Hell after some of his demons escaped the underworld and tried to steal baby Charlie to be their new leader.
While the team was able to defeat them, this left Lucifer convinced he had no choice but to return in an attempt to restore control.
“Season five picks up, Chloe is heartbroken but she’s trying to almost play it cool more or less with Maze,” said German. “They’re going out, drinking a lot, they are dancing. But also, Maze is helping her as a bounty hunter at the LAPD. Chloe has no idea where Lucifer is. She’s heartbroken but has no idea how to show it.”
Ellis hinted that answers will come sooner rather than later about whether Lucifer makes his way back to Earth.
And what about a wedding as the (possible) series finale?
“The eternal bachelor? Well, if it’s the right person, like it has been in my actual life,” said Ellis. “But yeah, who knows? Could the Devil get married? In the presence of God? We’ll see.”
Asked what Chloe’s reaction would be if Lucifer were to get down on one knee and propose, German was quick to answer.
“Oh my god, are you kidding? No matter what she pretends she doesn’t want, immediate yes!” she exclaimed. “Immediate yes. She is madly in love with him. I mean, Chloe is just madly in love with Lucifer, no doubt.”
As for the bridal song Chloe would hypothetically walk down the aisle to, Ellis suggested “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves.
Ellis shared that there will be “a happy ending” to Lucifer and Chloe’s love story.
“I think my favorite stories have always been stories that the message at the end is hope,” he said, “and so we’re pushing towards that on this.”
Lucifer returns for its fifth season on Netflix.
The first 8 of 16 episodes will likely be dropped in May.
I’m not holding my breath on when they show the first 8 episodes since they quit filming episode 16 due to COVID19. If it happens, we will be really happy, its been nearly a year since season 4 came out. We all feel we need it to help with the lock down/sheltering in place going on.
I hope Lucifer season 5 comes out soon. We love watching Lucifer. Its an awesome show
