It’s confirmed, Netflix has ordered a sixth and final season of its hit show Lucifer.
Early this morning the show’s Twitter account made the announcement calling it the ‘FINAL final’ season, joking: ‘The devil made us do it.’
The new season order comes two months before the fifth season begins to stream later this summer.

Last month, title star Tom Ellis closed a deal to return in his role for a sixth season.
Executive producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson and the rest of the cast also extended their contracts for the last season.
Writers have quickly turned what was supposed to be a series finale into a Season 5 cliffhanger.
Part 2 of Season 5 will be released early in 2021, meaning a Season 6 premiere could happen one year from now.
The news comes nearly two months before the fifth season begins to stream on Netflix.
The fifth season was originally billed as the final season.
JimHeath.TV broke the news Sunday that Netflix had given the fifth season a premiere date of August 21.
The series – which will air in two batches of eight episodes – will return to the streaming site on August 21, delighting fans who have been desperate to see what will happen next, since it last aired in 2019.
Netflix announced the air date, along with the following statement: ‘In the stunning fifth season, the stakes are higher than ever!
‘Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die, and we’ll finally get an answer to the question, “Will they or won’t they?”‘
Season 4 was given the green light by Netflix after Fox cancelled the dark thriller at the end of its third run.
It was renewed by Netflix for a fifth season, which will be broken in two parts.
The series follows fallen angel Lucifer Morningstar who becomes sick of ruling Hell and so returns to Earth.
Ending up in Los Angeles, he begins running a nightclub and ends up becoming a consultant to the LAPD, all the while battling a series of seraphic threats that descend upon the city.
Lucifer has consistently been one of Netflix’s most popular shows, thus leading the top brass to request an additional season.
We do not yet know how many episodes Season 6 will include.
