Lucifer showrunner Ildy Modrovich has revealed production on season six of Lucifer has started, and now two of the biggest stars have added to the excitement.

Netflix earlier this summer confirmed the show had been renewed for a sixth and final season.

Ildy teased eager fans with a behind-the-scenes snap as the production team reunited to get started on ideas for how Lucifer Morningstar’s story will come to an end.

Earlier today, everyone’s favorite angel D.B. Woodside tweeted that he has signed on for Season 6, and added that he’ll be directing an episode:

“Happy to announce that I will be returning to Lucifer for season 6. Additionally, I will be directing an episode for our final season. This is a beautiful cast. We stand by each other. We fight for one another.”

Shortly after, Ellis responded that he was looking forward to working with D.B. “in front of and behind the camera.”

This is the first time Ellis has acknowledged publicly that he’s onboard for Season 6, after extended contract negotiations earlier this year.

The Lucifer writing team is busy changing what was supposed to be the series finale into a Season 5 cliffhanger.

In addition, they are tasked with writing an entire new season.

The first 8 episodes of the 16 part Season 5 drop on Netflix on August 21.

It just can’t come fast enough!
