Jim on History looks back at the historic 1984 landslide win of Ronald Reagan.
After overseeing an economic recovery, and surviving an assassination attempt, Reagan had a chance of carrying all 50 states against his Democratic opponent Walter Mondale.
As it became evident Reagan would score 49 states – including traditional blue states like New York, Vermont and California – all eyes turned to Mondale’s home state of Minnesota.
