Jim on History remembers a massive tsunami that wrecked a Japanese city a decade ago.

On March 11, 2011, large parts of Kesennuma City were destroyed by the tsunami which followed the Tōhoku earthquake.

After the tsunami, spilled fuel from the town’s fishing fleet caught fire and burned for four days.

Over 1,400 died as a result of the tsunami.

The program features raw video of the event unfolding in remarkable detail.
