The White House criticized Fox News today after Fox & Friends weekend host Rachel Campos-Duffy accused first lady Jill Biden of failing the United States by letting Joe Biden run for president.

‘This is disgusting. @RCampusDuffy and @FoxNews know better. They can do better and their viewers deserve better,’ Jill Biden’s press secretary Michael La Rosa wrote on Twitter.

‘I hope they’ll apologize to the First Lady and leave this kind of talk in the [trash] where it belongs.’

Campos-Duffy, who appeared on MTV’s reality TV show ‘Real World’, seemed to partially blame the first lady for the crisis unfolding in Afghanistan during a segment on Sunday.

‘When you look at what’s hurting America, when you look at this lack of leadership, and you wonder who is responsible for putting someone this incompetent and frankly this mentally frail in this position?’ said Campos-Duffy. ‘As a political spouse, I cant help but look at Jill Biden.’

A persistent Republican line of attack against Biden is the allegation that he is not mentally fit to lead the nation.

It’s “a shameful display of ageism and ignorance,” said Donald Jurivich, Eva Gilbertson Distinguished Professor of Geriatrics and Chairman of Geriatrics at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences. “I don’t think any of these descriptors match Joe Biden’s demeanor and vigor.”

Dementia is defined as cognitive decline that is severe enough to cause someone to lose the ability to function independently in daily life.

“Joe Biden clearly does not have dementia,” said Kenneth Langa, Cyrus Sturgis Professor of Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School. “It is possible that Biden may have more difficulties finding some words and speaking smoothly than when he was younger. But that does not mean he is senile or even that he has mild cognitive impairment.”

The Fox contributor’s husband is former Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy, who served in Congress until 2019 and later also joined the network.

While in the House Sean Duffy, who also appeared on ‘Real World,’ was an aggressive supporter of former President Trump, who is about the same age as Biden.

The Duffy’s were critics of Biden on the campaign trail and questioned the 78-year-old’s mental and physical stamina.

‘No one knew better his state of mind than Jill – Dr. Jill Biden,’ Campos-Duffy said Sunday, referencing the first lady’s doctorate in education.

‘And If you ask me, the most patriotic thing Jill Biden could have done was tell her husband – to love her husband – and not let him run in this mental state that he’s in. I think she failed the country as well.’

It has long been rumored that President Reagan suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease years before it was diagnosed in 1994, five years after he left office.

Democrats, however, did not attempt to use Reagan’s age, and eventual diagnosis, as a political weapon
