Trump, Clinton Win Big On Super Tuesday |
1) Remember Super Tuesday was supposed to be the
day Ted Cruz showed off his southern strength. A few months ago there
was talk the southern regional evangelical candidate could wrap up the
nomination on Super Tuesday. Instead, Donald Trump beat him (badly) in
Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
While some may try to spin that Cruz’s win in his own state Texas and
next door neighbor Oklahoma is something incredible, in truth, it shows just how weak Cruz is on his own turf. Trump deserves a lot of credit for winning the region.
2) Marco Rubio is a presidential candidate loser. That’s a fact. Yes, he won a small convoluted caucus in Minnesota, but looking ahead he’s running behind Trump in his home state of Florida. If
he loses there in two weeks he’s toast. The narrative of Rubio being the
“strongest” candidate for the GOP this fall really doesn’t work when
you can’t win anywhere in your own party contests. Rubio is a bust.
3) On the Democratic side, it was a historic night for Hillary Clinton. She swept most of the
states and has built up a huge delegate lead. More importantly, she is
now on the verge of being the first woman nominated to lead the
Democratic ticket. Bernie Sanders lack of any connection to African
American voters kills his chances. He can stay in, but Clinton has
locked up the title.
BONUS 4) John Kasich is still in the race,
expected to win his home state of Ohio in two weeks. But that’s not
enough. You cannot win one or two places when Trump is winning fifteen
or sixteen places. It’s simple math: You need to win to get the most
delegates. Kasich may end up with more delegates than Rubio, but that’s
about it.
NOTE: Trump is already sending a warning to the RNC and calling for unity. The establishment is on thin ice as they attempt to derail him over the next couple weeks. His support is nationwide and he could completely blow up the GOP brass if he turns his fire on them.
