We know Donald Trump spent years hosting his own reality TV show, and many people have commented over the past 18 months that his administration is nothing if not a reality TV presidency.

Now the king of the tabloid talk show, Jerry Springer, confirms it.

“He took my show and brought it to the White House.”

Springer, who hosted his raucous and lowbrow show for 27 years, found plenty of things to slam Trump during his speech yesterday in Cincinnati, from immigration to his attacks on the press to tax cuts.

“What an absurdity. What are you giving person like me a tax cut?” Springer said. “If you’re willing, because a wealthy person gets a couple more dollars in a paycheck, if you’re willing to sell the soul of America for a couple more bucks, then don’t ever ask a young man or woman to fight and die for this county, because you don’t believe in it.”

Springer is a former mayor of Cincinnati, and frequent critic of Trump, slamming the president’s “vicious attack on the free press” as “an assault on America.”
