Tom Ellis’ devil will rise exactly 666 hours from now.

That’s on Wednesday, May 9.

Netflix has revealed its first look at Tom Ellis’ resurrection as Lucifer Morningstar.

In the teaser, he emerges from a pool with a glass of bourbon in all his muscled-out hedonism before the words “He is risen” appear onscreen.

What this teaser has to do with the upcoming season….. oh, wait.

It has everything to do with the upcoming season.

WATCH A NEARLY NAKED TOM ELLIS PROMOTE LUCIFER BECAUSE, WHY NOT?

Last summer, Fox canceled Lucifer after its third season, which cliffhung on Detective Chloe Decker… let’s just stop there so we don’t spoil it for those currently binge watching and catching up.

Thankfully, the streaming service swooped in and resurrected the Warner Bros.-produced series for a 10-episode fourth season, meaning fans won’t be left dangling forever after that long-awaited scene.

When season 4 begins, Lucifer will face a new challenge in the form of Eve (Inbar Lavi) — you know, of the Book of Genesis.

With the original sinner back in his life, Lucifer will have to figure out if she wants revenge for tempting her out of the Garden of Eden or something else.

Given all this, Ellis is convinced that this is the show’s best season yet.

“I’ll say this is without a doubt our strongest season that we’ve done, for many reasons,” Ellis told Entertainment Weekly last November. “A lot of it has to do with where we left our story and how we pick it up, and what we deal with this season is stuff we’ve never really dealt with before because there was always this conceit that no one believes Lucifer is the devil. But now that is common knowledge amongst some of our major characters.”

Netflix also released key art for the fourth season showing Lucifer and the tag line, “He is risen.”

The series stars Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Detective Chloe Decker, Kevin Alejandro as Detective Dan Espinoza, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze, Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez and Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin. Season 4 also starts series newcomers Inbar Lavi as Eve and Graham McTavish as Father Kinley.

The complete fourth season of Lucifier will be available May 8 on Netflix. The first three seasons are already there.

Here’s more Tom Ellis. Just because.
