NO SPOILERS: Netflix hasn’t announced the go-ahead for the fifth season of Lucifer yet, but no one believes that won’t happen at some point in the next 30 days.
But before that decision comes down, many are asking: Why not skip Netflix and take our favorite devil to the silver screen?
If ever there was a cast with an already made fan base solidly established, this is it.
Let’s consider reality:
DC movies have struggled against their Marvel counterparts.
The recent Superman and Batman films have been, let’s just say it: Bad.
By next Christmas (ironic) movie fans will be ready for a devil of a good time.
A witty and action packed romp could fill the void.
DC could make Lucifer their new big screen franchise.
Plus, Tom Ellis is going to be James Bond soon.
[From Lucifer To James Bond – Tom Ellis Is Ready For Next Step]
His movie career has already been preordained by God (or dad if we want to stay in character).
So, before that happens, why not take one of the most successful modern TV franchises and give it a film run?
Ellis, himself, has already suggested we’re at a good starting point, following the Season 4 cliffhanger, for a movie:
“I think we leave it in a place where, hopefully, people will be going, ‘You can’t leave it there!’ Which is always, you know, the key,” said Ellis last week.
DC and Warner Brothers need only look at the incredible fan response in the hours following Lucifer’s cancellation on Fox to its resurrection on Netflix for proof.
And think of all the new fans a big screen version would attract?
Each one of the series stars deserve some big screen love: Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Chloe Decker, Kevin Alejandro as Dan Espinoza, Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, and Rachael Harris as Linda Martin.
When Netflix saved Lucifer it only picked it up for an additional season.
Insiders say that Season 5 will be announced in the next 30 days.
If Twitter is any indication, that should be a no brainer.

That gives us enough time to let DC and Warner Brothers know we want a Lucifer movie!
It really is all about him, detective.

Better stick to the series. The storytelling of Lucifer doesn’t fit in the way movies are made. You will either get s very long episode, only interesting to the fans, or they will not like it BC they are forced to put such a wrapped up story in it the fans won’t like it.
+ A full season has more screen time than a movie 😉
I absolutely agree that this is a GREAT idea!
Let’s hope it happens!
A movie is an awesome idea, also many more seasons on Netflix. LuciferSeason4 is a nuclear bomb,I expected it to better than it was on Fox but they just took the show to a whole other level! Can’t wait for future seasons of Lucifer, and a movie…or two ?!
Don’t like the movie idea. I just want more episodes. Why change an amazing thing?
This would ruin the show and if a movie came out, they wouldn’t be able to continue where they left off in the show. I’d be pissed off if they made it into a movie. Also, the banner at the bottom of your website saying a bunch of news I couldn’t care less about is really effing annoying
I think it’s a good idea why not have his film, besides how many dc lucifer films are there? I’m getting fed up with seeing the same characters done again and again like batman and superman why not have a lucifer film
I wouldn’t be able to go to a movie, mainly because all the theaters around me have been shut down, properties leveled and something else built on those locations. I’m talking about locations that are within a reasonable drive. I won’t drive 20-25 miles for a movie. I’d just have to wait for it to come out on DVD’s I guess. I’d rather have it on a network or streaming service as a series anyway. Even if we’re tortured and have to wait a year for another season. Stories are much better told as a series anyway.
It could work they could do the first half of the movie set in hell and the second on earth. They could do a story where although he returned to hell, the demons defy him anyway so he has no choice but to return to earth, they could make it amusing for instant Chloe has been missing him so lucifer is trying to avoid her so that he doesn’t hurt her again when he has to return, but everywhere he goes she arrives god could appear and he has a go at him, again.
