Lucifer season five production has officially kicked off and the team of writers are busy brainstorming about how to bring the series to an end.

Lucifer himself, Tom Ellis, marked the occasion by posting an photo of the writers’ room to his Instagram.

Standing next to co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson as well as a host of writers, Ellis wrote:

There are many “possibilities” to explore, with plenty of pressure on how to tightly and neatly bring the series to an end.

Everyone is hoping the show can end on an amazing note, like Breaking Bad, and not leave a sour taste in fans mouths, like Dexter.

Modrovich also shared the same pic and said, “Back in Hell…and couldn’t be happier!”

Modrovich also posted a picture of she, Henderson and Ellis at The Steakhouse where they brainstormed about season 5 over a few drinks:

Writer/producer Chris Rafferty also noted that the writers are now back at work in crafting the final ten episodes:

As Lucifer wraps up, there is a new question on whether fans will see him once again in a newly announced show.

Earlier this week it was announced Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is being adapted from the graphic novel of the same name.

Fans of Gaiman, of the dark fantasy genre, will know that The Sandman novel featured the first appearance of the Lucifer character.

Lucifer first appeared in The Sandman

Lucifer acted as a huge side-character for The Sandman, as he fought to regain his kingdom.

After the events of The Sandman’s graphic novel, Lucifer escaped to Los Angeles to open his own piano bar – LUX.

Sound familiar?

Throughout The Sandman story, Lucifer had some standout moments, and even clashed with the titular character once or twice.

This provokes the question, however: Will Lucifer appear in The Sandman series?

And if so, will Ellis play the role, or will someone else be cast?

Remember, Ellis is a leading contender to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond.

Lucifer is now owned by Netflix after it was cancelled by Fox, which means it may have an opportunity to cross over.

Before any chance of a crossover fans will need to see how Lucifer’s story ends – and Modrovoich and Henderson have been teasing its plots.

In a recent Instagram Q&A, Modrovoich “promised to explore” what happens when Chloe (Lauren German) finds out she is a gift from god.

So many possibilities, but first thing first: The 10 episodes must be written.
