Actor Chris Evans slammed Kanye West for his “terrifying” calls to abolish the constitutional amendment that ended slavery in a blistering tweet replying to the rapper’s bizarre musings.

West left fans bewildered after he posted a photo of himself wearing a Make America Great Again on a private jet and called for the removal of the 13th Amendment in the caption.

“This represents good and American becoming whole again,” wrote the singer who now goes by “ye.” ‘We will no longer outsource to other countries. We build factories here in America and create jobs. We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment. Message sent with love.”

Evans, who has played the role of Captain America in the Marvel movies since 2011, responded with a direct tweet about an hour later, writing: “There’s nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn’t know history, doesn’t read books, and frames their myopia as virtue.”

“The level of unapologetic conjecture I’ve encountered lately isn’t just frustrating, it’s retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying,” Evans concluded.

Kanye West, or “ye” as he now refers to himself, is booed by the audience while promoting Donald Trump following a Saturday Night Live performance.

West kicked up the controversy on Twitter fresh off his appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Minutes after his first tweet, he clarified the statement, tweeting: “not abolish but. let’s amend the 13th amendment We apply everyone’s opinions to our platform.”

The tweets have left fans scratching their heads as they attempt to comprehend what exactly West is saying about the constitutional amendment, which outlawed slavery back in 1865.

Technically, abolishing that amendment would allow states to enslave people again.

A couple of hours earlier the artist had posted a selfie on Instagram and Twitter wearing the same Make America Great Again hat that was met with boos during his SNL performance the night before.

Trump loved it, tweeting: “Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told “no”) was great. He’s leading the charge!”

Evans has been critical of Trump since his election, asking just this week why he was elected despite numerous sexual assault allegations.
